~ Lots of Prayer ~

It seems that I am discovering each week that another family member/friend has cancer. First there is Paw Paw, D's grandpa. He has abdominal cancer. They just discovered it and apparently he's had it for a while. He is at home with hospice, so we are in a waiting game with. He's had his morphine increased twice in the last 2 days because he's feeling more pain. He's not communicating like he was before. He's 83. We know that he's ready to see Jesus. And even more, I'm sure that Jesus is ready to see him.

In this comes prayer for my mother-in-law. Seeing as her Dad is going to die very soon, she will have lost the 2 most important men in her life in less than a year. She's so much stronger than she will ever know.

The mother of one of my dearest friends has been battling cancer for about 6 months or so. She is in her late 70's or is 80. She is full of life. Mrs. Reynolds is one of my favorite people in this world. Her cancer is in the muscle now and they are waiting to see if there are even any options for her. She is full of the love of Christ and she stays encouraged. With each step, each diagnosis, each option, she takes it as it is. I love her so much!

My friend, Misty, is battling cancer. She is a young wife and mother of 2. She has recently had a victory over double pneumonia! Here is her Caring Bridge site, again. She is an amazing woman. I am praying that God will heal her so that her children can know the rest of their lives with their Mom and her husband will know the rest of his life with his wife.

I found out of another acquaintance, from my years at Roswell Street, that has cancer. He's been battling this for a long time, but I just found out about it yesterday. Here is his site. His name is Freddy Cook. His is a young husband and father of 3 girls. As stated in his journal, he was the epitome of health and fitness. I'm praying for him, as well.

A man at our church, we call him Pops, was diagnosed with prostate cancer. It's in the early stages, so they are saying it's treatable. But he's not young, either.

I am not trying to make this a depressing post. I am posting all of these stories to ask for you that read it to pray for these people and their families. I know that all prayers are appreciated. One bonus to the internet is the ability to share prayer requests all over the world. Please pray for these families! Even if it's just a short prayer as you are reading this post.
