A little more closure...

At Papa's work station. We were required to wear protective eyewear while in the shop. Take note of the bottle of water in the back of the picture. That was the bottle of water that Chuck had left at work the day before, half full. The guys that he worked with had not touched a thing, including that water bottle.

They were cleaning up his desk, which was already clean to begin with.

Brian & D looking at what we needed to pack up. On the corner of the table, below the box, is one of Chuck's Bibles that we found up there.

The kids following Brian through the "small hanger". It was hardly small, but compared to the 2nd hanger we visited, it was small.

The kids were in heaven!

D & I in the small hanger.

The kids & I in the engine of a Boeing 767. It's dang huge!

It's been 7 weeks and we finally made it up to Delta to clean out Chuck's work space. It was a tough day. It made it feel more final that he's really gone. He had several tools there and a lot of snacks. He had one of his Bibles up there (pictured above). One thing that we have enjoyed is going through all of his Bibles and reading his notes. This Bible was read so much that it was thicker-looking. The cover barely stayed on it. Such a special treasure.

We were also able to meet most of his co-workers and take part in their Bible study. It was nice to hear their stories about Chuck. We were able to share our grief with each other. D & I have found that talking about Chuck helps in our healing process. This was a huge help. The guys at the 311 are great! It's awesome to know that Chuck was surrounded by good friends while at work.

The kids received a treat afterwards and were able to go into the hangers to see the planes. Brian, Chuck's good friend/business partner/big help to us through all of this, took us into the hangers. We walked into an MD-88 and a Boeing 767. If you ever get the chance to fly in first class in a 767 you will be very comfortable. It was so nice and spacious.

I think the next step in closure will be when we clean out Chuck's room. I'm not sure when that will happen, but it will be the toughest.
