Grateful for my friends...

My blood pressure still remains the same. It's high when I'm up and it's low when I am resting. I forgot to call my doctor on Friday to let him know how things are going. I will call tomorrow and see what he says. We are taking it one day at a time.

One thing that has been a challenge for me during this time is that this isn't just affecting me. It's not just challenging me. It's testing our entire family. I have received some great advice and encouragement through all of this. A few nights ago I talked to my dear friend, Angie. She gave me a fresh perspective on one aspect of it all, in respect to my kids. She said that, even if the Lord chose to save my healing until I deliver the baby 5 months from now, in the whole picture of life and eternity, 5 months isn't that long. Our kids probably won't even remember it the same way that we do.

Another piece of encouragement came from my friend here, Kelley. She is doing a Beth Moore study on the Fruit of the Spirit. In talking about patience, she talked about our kids. So many times we as parents worry about not giving our kids all of what they want or need. But sometimes it is good for our kids to go through things like this with their family. It teaches them that the world doesn't revolve around them and that, sometimes, we need to consider other people's needs.

I am so thankful for my friends and their encouraging words. I am thankful to my husband. He has been so wonderful and helpful. We are working out a plan with homeschool to where I do the lesson plans, we go over them together, and he does the teaching. He also gets up if the baby wakes up early in the morning. He is truly concerned with my health and the baby's health, and also taking care of our family. It is a true team effort that is growing our family closer together, at the expense of my blood pressure.

Also, this past Wednesday we had a team meeting at the Pricer's house. They prayed for me and as they prayed for me, Cindy prayed that I would keep my joy through this time. That is such an important thing to hear. Fight for joy! It's so great to have such a support surrounding us.

On a less-spiritual note, I have a roast in the crock pot. It is not often that we find them. I love roasts for so many reasons. They are delicious. Plus there are so many leftover options with a roast and the broth. Yummy! The house smells so good. I wonder if that would make a good candle scent?

I think a nice dinner in the crockpot can be very spiritual! I hope you continue to do well.

YOu are right they will not remember it. My pregnancy with Kennedy was hard. I could barely walk. I was on the couch or in the bed for most of the last 4 months of my pregnancy ... my kids do not remember that time at all. It was funny though a few weeks after she was born and I could sit in the floor and play with them again. I remember Ryan saying "mommy you are normal again" and that was it .... and they are no worse off now!

Take care of yourself and allow God to take care of your family! Praying for you!
