We have a new member in our family...Chila (pronounced "Cheela"), the dog!
Here's her story. Our friends live in a neighborhood w/ a lot of dogs. They knew of 2 full lab puppies that had been abandoned; a brother and a sister. So we jumped on the chance to get 2 labs for the price of ZERO DOLLARS! Well, they were only able to find the girl. We went ahead and took her home. If they find the boy, I'll probably be a sucker and take him in, too. Nonetheless, we have a dog. It is our first real family pet (we had a bird when my oldest was a baby, but he didn't live long). She is adorable and already proving to us how smart Labs are.
Her name is Chila, which is short for chilaquiles. Chilaquiles are my favorite, Mexican breakfast food! I don't suggest ever trying them in the States...they aren't too good. But the ones in Mexico are the freshest and the best! Technically, her name should be Chilaquil, because that is singular, but whatever. We're Americans, so we can play the dumb-American card :-).
Here is a picture of our sweet puppy...

She is so cute! I used to have a yellow lab named Lizzy, but she has passed on. Now we have Shih Tzu named Cannon. He is a spoiled rotten mess. Do her paws smell like fritos. :)
