Christmas in Mexico!

We are preparing for Christmas here in Mexico. Since we do not have all of the comforts of home, and celebrating Christmas at home, we are trying to establish some solid traditions with us as a family. We haven't celebrated a "normal" family Christmas since our daughter was born. In 2004 we were living w/ my husband's parents, in 2005 we were still living w/ them but we were also busy raising support to come here, last year we had just moved into this house & didn't have the money to do anything special. So this year we are trying to make this time as special as we can.

Tonight we are going to let the kids stay in the bed w/ us, watch a movie together, and then read the story of Jesus' birth. In the morning we will do Christmas together and have a good Christmas breakfast. In the afternoon, my in-laws are flying in. That is always a good Christmas present! We have a pretty tree this year, stockings hung, & a few presents to bless the children.

As a bonus, my husband has been painting the house. It makes the house feel cozier & more like home. Here are a couple of pictures...

Our daughter's room has one dark pink wall & the other 3 are light pink...it's very much her.

This is a picture of my wonderful dryer! I lived for a while w/out one. Trying to line-dry clothes during rainy season became a challenge. But now w/ this baby, I can do laundry when I want, and not just when the sun is out! Thank you Jesus!!!
