Irritable...

Yesterday we took Israel to get his first shots. Boy, is he ill. I don't remember my other two being this ill. I remember that they slept through it. Our baby is groaning & grunting a lot, even in his sleep. He seemed to sleep OK last night, but I didn't because I heard him groaning all through his sleep. To make the night even funner (note the sarcasm along w/ my incorrect grammar) we had a thunder storm which caused my little girl to cry out to me in the middle of the night. I went in to lay with her and help her arrange her pillows over her ears so that she couldn't hear the thunder as much. Not to go on too much of a bunny trail here, but thunder storms are way more intense here. They are really loud & and sometimes it shakes the house. OK, back to my night. I got back into my bed around 3:30 a.m. My sleep was very sporadic and I was also having other issues. For those of you that have nursed, you will know what I am eluding to. Due to the baby not feeling well, he's not nursing well but my milk is still dropping like he's eating a ton. So I was in a little bit of pain and it was hard to find a comfortable sleeping position. I fixed the problem as soon as I woke up for the day...thank God for electric pumps! Hopefully I can catch a snooze at some point today. Do the ol' "put on a movie for the kids and let Mom sleep" trick :-). I hardly ever have to resort to that, but today it will probably happen.

I'm excited because tomorrow we have company coming. Our Pastor, spiritual father, and dear friend, Dwayne Terry is coming. Our dear friend & partner in our ministry, Bruce Wallace is coming. And last, but not least, Jon Koon, a former member of our youth group, is coming, too. The three of them are coming to visit and share some stories. Dwayne & his wife just returned from a trip to China. Jon just returned from Bosnia. Bruce & his wife just adopted another baby from Guatemala. I am anticipating late nights with lots of stories & lots of tacos! Gosh, and I think I'm tired now? :-)

Sounds like you do need a nap! I hope Isreal get to feeling better. I hate it when shots make them feel all icky. Hope you can get some rest and have fun with your company.
